Bloody Mary Tournament Awards at Poor Man's Country Club @ 11:00AM
A weather committee comprised of the tournament committee and selected registered participants may decide to postpone the
tournament in case of bad weather. Sunday may be used as a weather day, if necessary. One day fishing constitutes the tournament.
If the tournament is cancelled due to weather, ENTRY FEES AND CASH POTS WILL BE REFUNDED 100%
Regardless of weather, the captain/owner of each vessel is responsible for decisions made regarding the safety of their vessel.
JUNGLE RULES...as far as who handles the rod & reel...
This refers to the fact that there are no angling rules other than the fish must be caught on an IGFA conventional rod and reel and
boated by hand or gaff. Anyone may handle the fishing rod. YOU MAY NOT PULL A FISH IN TO THE BOAT FOR A PHOTO OR
MEASUREMENT THEN COUNT AS A RELEASE WHEN YOU PUT IT BACK IN THE WATER! NO EXCEPTIONS!!
No shooting, explosives, entangling devices, nets, longlines or other non-sporting devices may be used.
Boats must be in entrance to Rockport Harbor for Weigh In Saturday by 6:00pm for final weigh in. No exceptions. The scales will be open
Friday at 3:00 if you want to weigh in your tournament qualifying fish...but it is not necessary or required to be in until Saturday by 6:00pm.
BUT...ALL FISH MUST BE IN EDIBLE CONDITION TO QUALIFY...SO BE SURE YOU HAVE PLENTY OF ICE ON BOARD IF YOU WANT TO
STAY OUT FISHING FOR MORE QUALIFIERS!!! THIS INCLUDES ALL SPECIES!! Friday weigh in will be from 3:00pm to 6:00pm unless
you call ahead and let us know you're bringing in a blue marlin...we'll give you 'til 10:00pm on blue marlin. If you can't make it in by 10...
you'll need to wait until the scales open again on Saturday at 3:00pm for final weigh in. Again...HAVE PLENTY OF ICE ON BOARD TO
KEEP YOUR FISH IN EDIBLE CONDITION.
Each boat is allowed to weigh in 3 of each species of qualifying fish for the tournament...so if you decide to weigh fish in on Friday...those
fish count towards your 3 fish limit. No mutilated fish will be weighed. "Mutilation" is defined as any damage, which impairs the fish's fighting
ability, and the Weigh Master will make all decisions regarding mutilation.
Boats waiting in line to weigh fish or submit videos inside the Rockport Harbor entrance area at 6:00pm will be considered on time.
All times are local CST and available on your GPS (corrected from Coordinated Universal Time)
Use your GPS for correct time.
Highest score determines the winner(s). In the case of a tie on weighed fish, length prevails. On released billfish, the boat with the earliest
release time wins. If there is a tie between boats with weighed fish and released fish, the boat with the most weighed points wins.
Boats are required to have a video camera to verify release of billfish. NO EXCEPTIONS.
OUR TOURNAMENT PROMOTES THE RELEASE OF BILLFISH

only billfish eligible for weigh-in and must be at least 102” in short length - the lower tip of the jaw to the fork of the tail.

VIDEO RELEASE RULES
ALL BOATS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE A VIDEO TO VERIFY RELEASE OF BILLFISH.
ALL BILLFISH RELEASES MUST BE REPORTED TO COMMITTEE BOATS AT TIME OF RELEASE.
You must write down the name of boat you report your release to on the Catch Report submitted at Weigh-In.
All boats will be required to present their SIGNED Catch Reports and video at the Weigh-in Station
for the Tournament Committee to review and verify.
All boats must be able to connect their camera to a TV Monitor or Laptop using standard Video Jack, VGA, HDMI or USB Port when
presenting their video for verification at the Weigh-in Station. Participants must furnish everything else needed to view their video! You
may use GoPro as long as you film your GPS DEVICE in one continuous frame after released fish swims away clearly showing date and
time of release...the camera CAN NOT stop during this time. In other words...you must be able to prove...without a doubt...the
exact time your release took place. Date and time of release is crucial. Species of billfish must be clear...if committee is unable to
clarify species of billfish...100 points will be rewarded. Please have videos cued and ready to view at Weigh In.
Only releases verified by video and Tournament Committee earn points.
Each boat is responsible for its own video equipment.
It’s a good idea to film with more than one camera in case of equipment failure.
EACH RELEASE VIDEO MUST SHOW THE FOLLOWING:
Angler fighting the fish, showing the object of the day (entire fight is not necessary)
Clear identification of species.
Wireman touching the leader or with leader in hand.
Wiring and release of fish showing hook removal or cutting of leader with the fish swimming away.
THE CAMERA SHOULD NOT STOP DURING WIRING AND RELEASE OF FISH.
IF USING GO PRO...MUST CONTINUE ON TO GPS DEVICE CLEARLY SHOWING DATE AND TIME OF RELEASE.
DATE AND TIME MUST BE VISIBLE FOR VIDEO TO QUALIFY
If the wireman has the leader in hand and the hook pulls, the fish still qualifies if all other rules are satisfied.
If the fish is only identifiable as a billfish, it will score 100 points.
MORE IS BETTER
The more video we see, the easier it is for us to verify you have met all of the video release requirements. There absolutely…positively
has to be NO GRAY AREA when it comes to making sure all of the above video requirements are met.
Check-In and Cash Pot Sign-Up will be at Poor Man's Country Club starting at 5:00pm and ending at 9:00pm Wednesday.
OPTIONAL POTS TO BE PAID WEDNESDAY AT REGISTRATION 5:00PM - 9:00PM .
ALL TEAMS MUST BE REGISTERED AND ON THE BOARDS BY 9:00PM WEDNESDAY.
